I like the tool, however I’ve used another one that’s much more self explanatory and user friendly. I’m having to google and search everywhere to Figure out how to do certain things and though I was able to edit my video it wasn’t exactly to my liking. An example is Changing the resolution seems impossible, can’t figure that out…

iMovie is great, I just don’t like the fact that once you save it, it is cropped in a funky way.
  • Terrible on phone, iPad or mobile

So I was just trying to upload my YouTube video. I was trying to copy it for to send it to YouTube, but then I leave for one minute. It kicked me out of the game. You cannot leave your device for one second if you’re on mobile on this app if you’re trying to cop something, I give this a terrible one. I hope someone fixes it soon enough.

Below is my original review. Later I saw a comment that if you start iMovie with a video instead of a photo you won’t have that problem. That worked! Thanks, IMovie is my main movie app. It has been for years. It seems to freeze, the Text doesn’t work, the Ken Burns Option, a huge feature, stopped. There are likely more problems but I stopped looking. IMovie never use to have these problems. Also, iMovie App on the Apple Store does not update my iPhone 13 Pro. Apple we need your help. Please fix it. Thanks, One of your biggest fans!

This app has gotten a lot better. It hasn’t froze in a while, I was able to make some great stuff without it freezing all the time. Great app!

I’m pretty savvy at making videos. This is impossible to use.
  • Missing important basic features (eg aspect ratio). Photo library import is misleading.

This app is useful for barebones, precise editing, but it leaves a lot to be desired at every level. My main gripe with this is that iMovie doesn’t store clips in your project, so if you import something to edit it, then delete that item in photos, you’ll lose it in your project. I’ve lost lots of work realizing this. It’s very counter intuitive- Same with integrated “space saving.” Why do I have to redownload a 30 second clip every time I need it but I have plenty of free space? It’s not user-friendly. “Import” doesn’t import or copy and nothing warns you or clears it up until after work is lost. These features are probably presented by someone very removed as “efficient” or intelligent, but I am the user and I am not served. I will absolutely turn to Google and Microsoft to manage my media libraries instead.
